NASA Summer Opportunities for STEM Teachers
The Astrobiology Summer Science Experience for Teachers, or ASSET, is
being held July 18-24, 2010, at San Francisco State University. Scientists will
share the latest in astrobiology research on the origin of life on Earth, the
extreme conditions in which life exists, Mars exploration, the formation of
planetary systems around sun-like stars, and the search for life in the

summer opportunities for high school students. Students who are currently seniors and will graduate in
May/June 2010 and who have been accepted as a college freshman for fall of 2010
are eligible to apply for projects posted under “High School” and/or under

WJU Graphic Designer Wins National
Cassie Lightfritz, graphic designer for the
Center for Educational Technologies®, has been named an American Graphic Design
Award winner for the second consecutive year. Lightfritz was honored for a 2009 poster and postcard she
designed for the former EdTech Collaborative website (recently renamed recently
renamed NASATalk) created by the
NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future, which is the space agency’s principal
