Celebrate Earth Day by Becoming a GLOBE Teacher

Science educators and citizen scientists around the world become involved with GLOBE by attending a Teacher Training Workshop where they receive professional development on the  implementation of GLOBE pedagogical models for inquiry-based research and the use of GLOBE protocols to answer scientific research questions. Once teachers have attended a GLOBE training event or completed GLOBE E-Teacher certification, they are provided with the knowledge and tools to implement GLOBE Protocols and learning activities in a classroom setting, work with their students to make data observations, and report these observations to the GLOBE website via an assigned Sign In identification.  Find out more about GLOBE services for teachers. Training workshops are listed online.

Branch out from STEM to STEAM

We're all familiar with the nation's push to improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.  But many educators are suggesting that STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, and Math) is more effective and engaging for students and teachers because of its integration of creative expression and artistic practices. Consider ways that you can use seasonal changes and technology tools to engage your students in capturing images as learning tools.  Here's an example to stimulate ideas about how to link ground-level views with satellite perspectives of Earth's seasons: Eyes Wide Open for Spring.
